Bracelet Size Chart: Find Your Bracelet Size

Pick your wrist size and get your bracelet size for a snug, comfortable or loose fit, with a full bracelet size chart, a bangle size chart and how to measure your wrist at home.

A bracelet that is too tight pinches, and one that is too loose slides over your hand and gets lost. The right size depends on two things: the size of your wrist and how you like the bracelet to sit.

Pick your wrist size below to see the bracelet length for a snug, comfortable or loose fit. The full bracelet size chart, a bangle size chart and an easy way to measure at home are underneath.

A simple rule: add about 1/4 inch to your wrist for a snug fit, 1/2 inch for a comfortable fit and 1 inch for a loose fit. Most women wear a 7 inch bracelet, which fits a 6.5 inch wrist comfortably.

How to measure your wrist

  1. Use a soft tape: wrap a soft measuring tape around your wrist, just above the wrist bone.
  2. No tape? Use paper: wrap a thin strip of paper around your wrist, mark where it meets and measure the strip flat with a ruler.
  3. Keep it snug: the tape should touch the skin all the way around without pressing in.
  4. Add for fit: add 1/4, 1/2 or 1 inch depending on how you want the bracelet to sit.

Bangle size chart

Bangles have no clasp, so they must slide over the widest part of your hand. Bring your thumb and little finger together as if you were putting on a bangle, then measure around the widest part of your hand, across the knuckles.

Snug, comfort or loose fit?

A snug fit sits close like a watch and suits thin chains and tennis bracelets, which look neat when they stay in place. A comfort fit moves a little and suits most chain and beaded bracelets. A loose fit drapes over the wrist bone and suits charm bracelets, where the charms need room to hang.

What is the average bracelet size for women? −
Most women wear a 7 inch bracelet. It fits a wrist of about 6.5 inches with a comfortable amount of room.
How much bigger than my wrist should a bracelet be? −
About 1/2 inch bigger for a comfortable fit. Add 1/4 inch for a snug fit or 1 inch for a loose fit.
How do I measure my wrist without a tape measure? −
Wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string around your wrist just above the bone, mark where it meets, then measure it flat with a ruler.
What size bangle should I get? −
Bangles must slip over your hand, so measure around your knuckles with your thumb and little finger pressed together. A hand of about 7.9 inches usually needs a 2.5 inch bangle.
Do charm bracelets need a bigger size? −
Yes. Charms take up space inside the bracelet, so add about 1/4 inch more than you would for a plain chain.
What does 7 inch bracelet mean? −
It is the full length of the bracelet from end to end, clasp included. A 7 inch bracelet is about 17.8 cm long.
