How Your Girl Style chooses topics, writes and checks its guides, credits images, uses AI tools, handles corrections, and keeps advertising separate from editorial.

Who we are
Your Girl Style (yourgirlstyle.com) is an independent style publication covering outfits, hair and nails. It is written and edited by Hazel Casey, with help from a small team of contributing writers. Everything published here goes through the same editor before it appears on the site.

What we cover, and why
We publish inspiration guides and practical how-tos in three areas: outfit ideas for real occasions, haircuts and hairstyles, and nail designs and nail care. We choose topics from what readers actually search for and ask about, not from what a brand would like us to write.
Our promise is simple: every guide should be usable. That means a real description of each look, what it suits, what it costs in time or upkeep, and what to ask for if you are taking it to a salon.
How an article is made
Each post follows the same process:
1. Research. We look at what people are searching for, read what already exists on the topic, and note the questions that go unanswered. Where a technique is involved — a braid, a nail shape, a garment fit — we check it against professional sources and, where possible, first-hand experience.
2. Drafting. A writer builds the guide around specific, named looks rather than vague advice. Numbers, prices and wear times are given as realistic ranges, not guarantees, because salons, hair types and nail beds differ.
3. Editing. The editor reads every draft in full before it is published, checks the claims, removes anything that cannot be supported, and rewrites for clarity. Nothing is published automatically.
4. Review after publishing. Guides are revisited as trends, products and prices change. When a post is meaningfully updated we change the date on it rather than leaving the original date in place.
Accuracy and sources
We aim to be accurate and clear about what we do not know. Where advice depends on your own hair, skin or nails, we say so instead of promising a single result. We do not invent statistics, and we do not present a product claim as a tested fact unless we have tested it.
Style content is opinion as well as information. Where something is our preference — a shape, a colour, a silhouette — we write it as a preference.
Images and credits
We use a mix of our own images, licensed stock images, and images shared by creators. When an image belongs to a creator, we credit them by name or handle next to the image.
If you are a photographer or creator and you believe an image of yours is used here without proper permission or credit, email support@yourgirlstyle.com with a link to the post and the image. We will credit it correctly or remove it, normally within 48 hours.
How we use AI
We use AI tools the way we use any other tool: for research, outlining, checking structure, and improving the readability of a draft. AI does not have the final word on anything published here. A person selects the topic, decides what goes in, verifies the advice and edits the final text before it goes live.
We do not publish machine-written articles without human review, and we do not use AI to fabricate experiences, reviews or results we have not had.
Corrections
If something on the site is wrong, we want to fix it. Email support@yourgirlstyle.com with the page link and what is incorrect. We read every message.
Small errors — a typo, a broken link, a wrong name — are corrected as soon as we see them. If a correction changes the meaning of the advice, we update the post and note that it has been updated.
Advertising, affiliates and sponsorship
The site is supported by display advertising. Ads are served by third-party networks and are kept visually separate from the articles. Advertisers have no say in what we write, which looks we recommend, or where they appear in a list.
Some links may be affiliate links, which means we can earn a small commission if you buy through them. This never changes the price you pay, and a product is never included in a guide because it pays a commission.
If we ever publish a sponsored or gifted collaboration, it will be labelled clearly at the top of the post. Anything not labelled that way is independent editorial.
Safety and what this site is not
Our guides are for style and grooming inspiration. They are not medical, dermatological or professional advice. Patch-test new products, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and see a doctor, dermatologist or licensed stylist for anything involving your health, an allergic reaction, or damage to your hair, skin or nails.
Reader contributions and comments
We welcome questions, suggestions and topic requests by email. Anything you send us may be used to improve a guide, but we will not publish your name or personal details without asking you first.
